When you sign up for Verizon FiOS television service you receive a specially designed set-top box, similar to the receiver box you would get if you had cable TV service installed in your home. If you're out of HDMI inputs on your television set you can still have your PlayStation 3 and your FiOS box hooked up at the same time by connecting the two devices together.
Turn your Verizon FiOS set-top box around so you can see the back panel. Locate the red, blue and green component cable inputs located in the center of the FiOS set-top box.
Connect your PlayStation 3 component cables to the component cable inputs on the back of the set-top box. You cannot connect your PlayStation 3 to your FiOS set-top box with an HDMI cable. The single HDMI input on the set-top box can only be used for connecting the box to an HDTV.
Plug the other end of the PlayStation 3 component cables to the component cable input on the back of the gaming console. This input is labeled "AV MULTI OUT." The PlayStation 3 and FiOS box are now connected to one another.
