It may take a little imagination, but you can make all kinds of pictures out of alphabet letters. Draw cartoon characters or animals or birds. First, start with the letter itself, whether lowercase or uppercase, and see what images come to mind. The capital letter "S," for example, may suggest the shape of a serpent or a seahorse that you can make out of the letter.
Things You'll Need:
- Paper
- Pencil
Draw a plain capital "A" about 5 inches high as an outline for the profile of a male cartoon character's face. Draw the letter "c" at the bottom-left area of the capital "A" for the man's nose. Draw a straight line about 1 inch above the line that crosses through the "A." Have the line extend about 1/2 inch beyond each side of the "A" to make a hat. Add a "u" shape beside the "c" nose to make the mouth. Draw another "u" beside the mouth to make a chin. Draw a backward "c" on the right side of the "A" to make an ear.
Draw a plain capital "B" to make a male cartoon character's profile. Add hair on top of the letter by sketching in some short, straight lines. Draw an arc to make an eyebrow at the upper-right side of the letter "B." Add a nose in the middle of the letter B that looks like your left thumb. Put an oval shape on his nose so it looks like he is wearing glasses. Draw a "C" on the left-hand side of the "B" to make his ear. Draw a line from the oval on the nose to the top of his ear to complete his glasses. Add a mustache under his nose and draw a pipe coming out of his mouth.
Draw a picture of a quail using the capital letter "Q." Draw a three-dimensional outline of the letter "Q." Add the profile of a bird's head on top of the "Q," with an eye and a beak facing to the left. Add a few feathers to the round shape of the "Q," which becomes the quail's body. Make the "tail" part of the letter to the lower right into tail feathers. Add feathers to the open circle in the middle of the letter "Q."
Draw a jellyfish using the capital letter "J." Draw a three-dimensional outline of the letter "J." Draw a balloon cap on the top of the letter "J" to represent the top part of the jellyfish. Draw in string-like lines from the top of the letter down through the body of the letter "J" to make the tentacles and complete the illustration of a jellyfish. Color your jellyfish if you wish.
Draw a three-dimensional outline of the letter "P" and use it to make a picture of a panda. Make the long part of the letter to the left into the panda's front leg. Make the round part of the letter the panda's face. Add two ears, two eyes, a mouth and a nose to the round part of the letter "P" to complete the panda's face. Draw three small claws at the bottom of the long part of the "P" to show the panda's front paw.
