How to Design Your Own Church Fans

By LaurenKrotosky
You can make a simple paper fan as a church craft.

If your church group is looking for a project or craft to organize, consider putting together a homemade fan project. You can design and craft handheld fans to pass out to members during services during the summer, when the inside of the church may get hot and stuffy. You just need some basic materials and tools to design such a craft, like card stock and Popsicle sticks, and the project can be completed by volunteers of any age.

Open a Word document on your computer and type text you want printed on the fans. The text can include the name of your church, a psalm or an inspirational message. Center the text on the document and save.

Insert card stock paper into your printer. Card stock is thicker than traditional printer paper, making it ideal for a hand fan. Card stock can be found at most craft or office supply stores.

Print the created document onto the card stock, making as many copies as you’ll need to hand out to members. Let the ink dry for a few minutes before handling the papers.

Cut each piece of card stock into a large oval, making sure not to cut off any of the text on the page.

Place one stick to the center back of each fan, using a stapler to secure it in place with two staples.
