How to Make Colorforms Stick Again

Colorforms are a brand of window clings. Over time they can lose their ability to stick to a window. These vinyl sheets are usually used with a piece of coated plastic as the play surface, but by using static cling, Colorforms can hold on to any clean, dry surface. If your Colorforms no longer stick, do not throw them away. There is a single, simple way to get your Colorforms to stick like new again.

Place the water into a large bowl.

Mix a few drops of soap into the water in the bowl.

Stir the water to create suds.

Add the Colorforms into the soapy water.

Stir the Colorforms around in the water with your hand.

Pull the Colorforms out of the soapy water and rinse well.

Place the Colorforms on the cooling rack until they are completely dry. Let them air dry.

Things You'll Need:

  • Colorforms
  • Liquid soap
  • Water
  • Baker's cooling rack
  • Large bowl

Warnings:

  • Do not dry with a towel. The Colorforms lost their stick because they got either dust or grease on them, and by drying them with a towel, you could leave fabric threads on the Colorforms and that will prevent them from sticking. By air drying them, you avoid this.
