By Stephen Lilley

The PlayStation 3 "Eye Camera" is an external device designed to rest on or near the top of your television set. It is a camera that allows you to record video using your PlayStation 3. It is used in a variety of games that move your on-screen character based on your actual, physical movements. Setting up the Eye to work with your PlayStation 3 can be done in a matter of minutes.

Plug your PlayStation Eye's USB cable into one of the USB inputs on the PlayStation 3. The PS3 has two USB inputs on the front of the console, as well as a few on the back. If you're planning to leave your PlayStation Eye plugged in indefinitely, use one of the back inputs.

Press the "Power" button on the PlayStation Eye to turn on the device.

Press the "Power" button on your PS3 controller to turn on the console. Your PlayStation Eye and PlayStation 3 are now connected.
