How to Mail Wedding Invitations to Guests

You have spent the time choosing just the right invitations, and have picked them up front the printer. Now, you must begin the task of mailing the wedding invitations out to the guests. There are a few rules of thumb to follow when mailing out wedding invitations, but in this modern day, creativity is always welcome.

Put the invitations in envelopes. Most likely, these came with the invitations when you ordered them. Include a printout with directions for guests to your ceremony and reception locations. These directions should be printed, not handwritten, and they should be clear and concise.

Label the envelopes. The best way to do this is to purchase clear labels and print out all the names and addresses of your guests. The clear labels look as if they are printed directly on the envelope and will save you time. If you do desire to print each envelope, remember to be patient, it will take time. It is also advisable to have extra envelopes in case one gets stuck in the printer or prints incorrectly.

Seal the envelope with a pretty sticker seal that matches your invitations. Often, these can be purchased with your wedding invitations, or these can be bought at party supply stores in the wedding aisles.

Take your envelopes to the post office and browse the selection of stamps. Choose one that is to your liking to mail your invitations. These little extra touches go a long way to an elegant wedding style.

Mail invitations out four to six weeks in advance. This will give you plenty of time for RSVPs, and plenty of time for guests to schedule the event to ensure they will be available.
