The PSP (PlayStation Portable) Slim is a popular gaming device that also doubles as a general portable media player. Unfortunately, a PSP Slim can sometimes experience a hardware failure or crash unexpectedly. In these cases, it is often best to restart it in "Recovery" mode to mitigate any potential damage and remedy the problem. This mode is only available on a PSP that is running custom firmware.
Remove the battery from the PSP Slim. You can access the battery by removing the battery cover on the back of the unit.
Return the battery to the back of the PSP Slim and secure the battery cover.
Slide the power switch on the right side of the unit up while holding the "Right Trigger." This will reboot the unit in "Recovery" mode and will let you access the "Recovery" menu.
