Unfortunately, eating certain foods has the effect of making you gain weight, and this may be undesirable for you. Fortunately, losing weight in Mabinogi is fairly easy and fast, as well as cheap in most cases.
Mabinogi Weight Loss Strategy
The first thing you should know when dealing with weight is that you only need to eat when hungry. For example, if your stamina is at 100 percent or your hunger is full, eating can cause you to gain weight, even if the food you eat would normally cause weight loss. You will know when your character is hungry by checking the stamina bar, the yellow bar at the bottom of your game. If the bar is half transparent, giving it a paler yellow look, that means that your hunger is at 50 percent. When your hunger reaches zero, half of the bar will be black. You can lose weight easily by simply not eating for a while and letting your hunger go down. However, if you choose to let your hunger run out, you may also lose some important stats in other areas such as dexterity or strength. In addition, fighting any monsters while hungry results in losing stamina at a much faster rate.
Most people turn to berries to lose weight quickly, easily, and for free. Berries can be found in most trees on the continent of Uladh, which includes the cities of Dunbarton, Tir Chonaill, and Bangor. In order to obtain berries from the tree, you must strike the tree repeatedly. It may take a while for an adequate amount of berries to fall, so if you’re in a time crunch, you can just buy yourself some foods for weight loss. Similarly, hitting apple trees will drop apples, which also help with weight loss. Apple trees are located along the southern path of Dunbarton toward Bangor. On the continent of Iria, trees will drop coconuts, which can be used for weight loss as well. Digging up potatoes in potato patches outside of Dunbarton adn eating them can also help you lose weight, especially if you manage to dig up a giant potato. Using a dull weeding hoe in the potato patches gives you beans, which are also good for weight loss. In dungeons, pick up the giant lumps of cheese, as they also lower weight.
Foods available for purchase for weight loss are strawberries, mushrooms, cabbage, and carrots. Stocking up on strawberries is a good idea because they take up a minimal amount of inventory space. While trying to lose weight, avoid eating slices of meat, and especially don’t consume any large meats. You may also wish to take care of whether or not you’re gaining or losing muscle. Having extra muscle may look like your character has gained weight. Most of the foods that control weight gain will help reduce muscle as well. However, avoid potatoes and giant potatoes, as they will promote muscle growth even while making you lose weight.
