Transform a simple glass dish or platter into a wonderfully decorated one using your choice of patterned scrapbook paper. The possibilities are endless when deciding on how to decoupage the scrapbook paper on your glass object using Mod Podge, such as making a collage of torn pieces of paper, shapes such as hearts and stars or using just one type of paper repeatedly for a colorful glass project. The paper is attached to the bottom of the glass so that it shows through the top in a lovely way.
Things You'll Need:
- Scrapbook Paper
- Scissors
- Mod Podge
- Craft Sponge
Cut or tear your scrapbook paper into smaller pieces if you are planning to do a collage on your glass piece. You can also trace shapes from stencils onto the paper and cut them out, such as butterflies, hearts or stars.
Flip over your glass piece so that the bottom of it is facing up; you will be decoupaging your paper onto the bottom so that it shows through the top. Use your craft sponge to add a coat of Mod Podge to the top of your scrapbook papers and press them to the bottom of the glass piece. Continue until you've added all of your paper pieces to the glass.
Cover the bottom of your glass piece with a single coat of Mod Podge using your craft sponge then let it dry for at least 20 minutes. Add an additional coat and let it dry for another 20 minutes before flipping the glass back over.
