A jar with pepper slices.

Pack a bottle tightly with pepper slices, dried beans or sliced fruit. Fill with vegetable oil. Top the bottle with a cork, or screw the lid back on. (This type of decorative bottle can also be used in cooking.)

Fill canister jars with polished rocks. These are great for rustic kitchens. Use jars that close with a metal clamp.

Fill a glass soap dispenser bottle that has a stopper with potpourri. Choose potpourri that enhances the colors in the kitchen.

Fill any empty glass jar or bottle with dried pasta. This preserves the pasta and lends your kitchen a decorative touch.
