Whether it be for a play, recital, school presentation, or simple enjoyment, creating and composing a superhero theme song is a creative and enjoyable task for individuals of all ages. Superheroes are an iconic representation of good in our culture, so creating a song to emphasize this quality is a positive idea to reinforce. A theme song generally tells the history and specific super powers of a character, almost like a catchy and musical biography.
Things You'll Need:
- Music
- Paper
- Pencil
Brainstorm a list of ideas for a superhero theme song, including superhero names, powers and his storyline. Set a goal for how long of a song you would like to create. This could vary from a 15 second jingle to a three minute full song.
Make a list of keywords associated with your superhero and likewise a list of corresponding words that rhyme to them. Using rhyming helps you develop a rhythm in the song and keeps the tone upbeat and fun.
Piece together your brainstorm of ideas you want to come across, along with your keywords and rhymes to form lyrics.
Add a simple musical element, such as a drum, rattle or harmonica, to help you keep the beat and rhythm of a song. For the musically gifted, compose a riff on the guitar or a set of musical notes on a keyboard for accompaniment.
Add some fun sound effects to highlight the immense power and "wow" factor of your superhero. This could include the clang of symbols or the blow of a horn.
