You homemade pull out card can be used for birthdays, holidays or as a get well card.

Handmade cards can be both fun to make and meaningful to the loved ones you give the cards to. One exciting handmade card you can create is a pull out card, which has a movable component inside the card. To make a homemade pull out card for your special loved one, it is helpful to follow a series of steps that will allow your card to function properly once it is delivered.

Fold two sheets of paper width wise.

Place one of the cards inside the other.

Squeeze a line of glue along the edge in between one half of the doubled card.

Press the layers together so that one half is glued together.

Set the folded papers aside.

Cut out two narrow ovals from posterboard that each measures about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long.

Place a small brad through the end of an oval.

Press the end of the brad through the end of the other oval, effectively connecting them together but allowing them to move like an arm.

Cut a one-inch slit in the middle of one side of the doubled card. Only allow the slit to go through the top layer.

Slide the arm through the open side of the card, allowing one of the ovals to stick up through the slit in the middle of the card.

Squeeze glue around the edges of the half of the card that has open sides. Leave the area that has the oval sticking through to remain unglued.

Cut out a one-inch shape from construction paper. The shape can be a heart, star or any other shape that you prefer.

Glue the shape to the top of the oval sticking through the middle of the card.

Allow the glue to dry completely.

Write a special message to your loved one using colored pencils or markers.

Decorate your card with glitter glue and allow it to dry.

Place your card inside an announcement sized envelope, and deliver it to your loved one.
