Celebrate spring with a cotton ball bunny craft project. This easy-to-make craft is an ideal activity for kids who will enjoy turning plain cotton balls into a fluffy bunny decoration. The project requires few materials, most of which you probably already have, making it both an entertaining and an affordable craft activity. Whether you hang the finished bunnies on the wall or prop them up on a shelf, they'll make any room feel like spring.

Things You'll Need:

  • White Craft Glue
  • Scissors
  • String
  • Paint Brush
  • Cardboard Or Oak Tag
  • Cotton Balls
  • Pencil
  • Pink, Black And White Craft Felt

Draw a bunny shape from single-ply cardboard or oak tag board. Make the shape according to your preference—some options include a cartoon bunny face, a side profile or a bunny body made from three circles (tail, body and head) and two ears.

Cut out around the outline with a pair of scissors.

Place the cut-out on a piece of pink craft felt, trace around the ears and cut the ear shapes from the felt.

Brush a coat of glue, using an old paint brush, onto the cardboard or oak tag base's ears and glue the pink felt onto them.

Line the edges of the pink felt with glue and stick cotton balls into place.

Coat the rest of the cardboard or oak tag with glue and cover with cotton balls.

Cut a triangle with rounded corners from pink felt to make the bunny's nose and glue it onto the cotton ball-covered face.

Cut a length of black yarn to use for the bunny's mouth, shape it into a "w" and glue it right below the nose.

Cut circles from black felt and small dots from white felt to use for the bunny's eyes. Glue the black circles into place above the bunny nose and position the white dots inside the black circles.

Glue a loop of string to the top of the bunny; this will serve as a hanger.

If you want to further dress up your cotton ball bunny, you can attach a felt bow tie to his neck and add felt "buttons" down the front of his body.
