If you are looking for a creative way to send a business invitation or an informal memo to coworkers and colleagues, a piece of square paper is all you need. With some folding techniques, you can make a paper version of a business suit jacket to which you can attach an invitation or a note to pass around the office. This project may be a little challenging, but the finished product is well worth the time and the concentration.
Fold a piece of square paper into four squares. To do this, fold the paper in half by bringing the left side over to the right side. Then fold again, bringing the top side down to the bottom side of the paper. Scrapbook paper works best for this project as it is already square. Choose a piece of paper that is black on one side and white on the other for a more realistic finished product.
Flip the paper over so that the black side is showing. Fold a small strip of paper down, about 1/8-inch wide, at the top of the paper. Turn the paper over so the white side is up and the fold is at the top of the paper.
Fold the right and left sides of the paper in toward the middle line or crease. You will have a black rectangle with a white strip on the top. Take the left and right sides of the paper and fold them again towards the center crease, then unfold.
Locate the top two corners in the middle of the paper. Fold these corners toward the outer edges of the paper creating a "V" shape that goes 3/4 down the paper. This will create a white "V" in the middle of the black rectangle.
Flip the paper over. You should clearly see the eight rectangles creased in the paper. Fold the right and left sides of the paper to the first crease or to the edge that separates the first and second row of rectangles. You should now see two little flaps created in Step 4 hanging over the edges from the other side.
Fold the rectangle in half from the bottom towards the top. Your rectangle needs to be folded in half along the middle crease.
Spin the piece of folded paper around so that the flaps are going towards the bottom of the paper. Look at your new paper suit.
