Choose decal designs such as swirls or lightening bolts, which will decorate the bodice, sleeves and back of your leotard. Pick decal colors that complement the color of you leotard but will also stand out against its color. For example, florescent colors on a black leotard draw the eye to the design of your leotard. Bold colors on a white or tan leotard create a similar effect. Consider choosing rhinestone decals for a dramatic effect.
Wash and dry your leotard.
Iron your leotard, to remove wrinkles.
Lay your leotard out on a flat surface.
Choose the design you will use. Consider using your decals on the collar area, bodice, sleeves and back of your leotard.
Arrange the decals face-down on the front bodice and sleeves of your leotard.
Iron over the decals, applying even heat and pressure so that the color and imprint of the decals stick to your leotard.
Remove the heat and turn off your iron.
Keep the decals in place on your leotard for 20 minutes, so they can fully adhere and dry onto the surface of your leotard.
Peel off the backing of the decal so you can view the design you created.
