The three major music licensing companies for satellite television are SiriusXM, Music Choice and Digital Music Express, DMX. SirusXM and Music Choice accept CD and short musical biography submissions by mail, but DMX requires musicians to register online and agree to their terms and conditions before uploading songs to their website.

Place each music CD and a short artist biography into a CD mailer or similar packaging.
Address the first CD mailer to SiriusXM:
SiriusXM Attn: Music Programming Department 1221 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10020
Address the second CD mailer to Music Choice:
Music Choice Programming Attn: Unsigned Material (include music genre, such as Rock, Rap or Country) 328 W. 34th St. New York, NY 10001
Affix the proper postage or take the packages to the nearest postal outlet to purchase postage, and then put them into a mailbox.
Register Online
Visit the DMX registration site at GetUPlayed.com. Click on “How It Works,” and then select “Artists” to learn more about the program.
Click on “Login/Register” at the top of the page, and type in your information, such as your first and last name, email address, whether you are an artist or a fan and your date of birth.
Click on and read “Terms and Conditions” and “Privacy Policy” to make sure that you agree with them, then check the “I Agree” box.
Check the email account that was used to register. A confirmation email from GetUPlayed with a temporary password is sent to the registered email address. Click on link provided in the email to validate the account.
Enter your artist profile. Complete the required information, including artist name, your role relating to the artist, MySpace Music profile link, if applicable, genre, mailing address, telephone and fax number. Change your password within this form, if desired.
Check the boxes “Remember Me on This Computer” or “I Would Like to be Notified of Future Announcements or Promotional Offers from DMX,” if desired.
Upload an optional photo. Click “Choose File” to locate the image to be uploaded, then double-click on it to prepare the upload. The image title appears next to the “Choose File” button and shows that the image is ready to be uploaded.
Click “Save and Upload Song.” The Music License Agreement appears, and if you agree with the terms, click “I Agree.”
Upload one to six songs in either MP3 or WMA format by clicking “Choose File,” then selecting the song file to upload. Double-click on the song, and then enter the song’s title in the specified field. Click “Upload” to begin and wait while the file uploads. Each track must be uploaded one at a time.
