A fluffie, or cyber fluffie, is a large leg warmer made from faux fur. The fluffies are often made from an unusual fabric color, such as blue, pink or a bright pattern. These leggings are added over tights as a way to transform the look of boots or other shoes. Cyber fluffies are most often worn with skirts, to showcase the fluffy leggings. You can make the fluffies fit tightly around your calves, or add additional fabric around the leg to make them fuller. Adjust the width of the rectangles to change the final size of the fluffies.
Things You'll Need:
- Sewing Machine
- Straight Pins
- Measuring Tape
- Scissors
- 1-Inch Thick Elastic
- Faux Fur Fabric, 1 1/2 Yards
- Thread
Measure the circumference around the widest part of your calf. Add 1 inch to this measurement. Measure the length from just below the knee to the top of the ankle. Add 1 inch to this measurement. Draw a rectangle equaling these measurements and cut it out for a pattern.
Pin the pattern to the back of the fur. Cut out the rectangle of fur. Cut a second rectangle for the other leg.
Cut two pieces of elastic 1 inch shorter than the narrow side of the rectangles.
Stretch the elastic to the length of the short side of the rectangles and pin in place. Sew the elastic to the rectangles.
Fold the rectangle in half vertically, making a long tube shape with the fur inside the tube. Sew the two long edges of the fur together using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Repeat for the other rectangle. Turn the rectangles right side out.
