Draw a wing shape on one half of the cardboard. The size depends on how big your dog is and how large you would like the wings to be. It might be helpful to look at wing patterns online and draw the shape based on these.
Use scissors to cut out the wing shape. Reverse the wing, place it face down on the other half of the cardboard. With a pencil, trace the wing's shape onto the cardboard and cut out another wing.
Decorate both sides of the wings by painting patterns using the acrylic paint. Draw patterns first in pencil, then fill in. Take inspiration from butterfly wing patterns for a really vibrant design. Try to make your designs symmetrical on each wing. Let dry overnight.
Measure around your dog with the piece of elastic behind the front legs and up to the top of the back. Cut the length of elastic where the two ends meet.
Punch a hole in the top of each wing using a hole punch. Thread the elastic through with the two loose ends at the bottom. Wrap the elasticated wings around the dog and tie in a knot.
