Elastic armbands are a quick and easy way to show off your team spirit at a school or sporting event. They can be customized in various sizes, colors and thickness, depending on what kind of elastic you use.
Things You'll Need:
- Sewing Machine
- Scissors
- Tape
- One-Inch White Or Colored Elastic
Measure out the elastic by wrapping it around your wrist and pinching off one end.
Pull the elastic off your wrist carefully and cut it, leaving an extra inch on both ends from where you pinched the elastic off.
Fold the elastic in half and tape the two ends on top of each other so they are even and will not move.
Carefully sew together the end of the elastic at around the location of where you pinched it off.
Cut off the excess elastic and turn the armband inside out so the seam is facing inwards.
Tip
Puffy paints and/or markers are great ways of decorating your armband.
Different sized elastic can be used in this project, as well as different colors.
Warnings:
- Be careful while sewing your armband. The excess elastic helps to give you something to hold onto while you are sewing. Make sure the thread you use to sew your armband matches the color of the elastic.
