  • How to Make a Feather Duster. If you're in the mood to start a useful crafts project, make your own feather duster. You can use them as accents in your home. Here are the steps needed to complete your project.

Paint the handle for your feather duster. Paint the cup as well. Allow to dry completely.

Select soft feathers that measure at least 10-inches long. You may choose to dye your feathers beforehand to create a distinctive feather duster.

Gather the feathers into one bundle and wrap them together at their ends with a rubber band.

Drive a hole in the bottom of the cup. Place the handle inside the opening from the outside of the cup and add plenty of glue. Let it dry in an upright position.

Take your bundled feathers and place them inside the cup hole. Add strong glue. Dry your new feather duster overnight before using.

    Tips

Don't bind the feathers too tightly with the rubber band, or they will break. Most craft stores will carry colorful feathers. Check online for good deals as well.
