A popsicle-stick doghouse can be created as a toy for your child to use in playing with her dolls or dog toys, or even as a sort of garage for toy cars. It can also serve as a model for an actual, full-size doghouse you are thinking about building for your own family pet.

Cut four popsicle sticks into thirds using a small saw. Discard the middle sections, keeping only the pieces with the rounded ends. Set aside.
Cover the surface of a 6-inch square of cardboard with craft glue.
Place four whole popsicle sticks onto the cardboard. These form the floor of the doghouse.
Glue three popsicle sticks around three edges of the floor, standing them on their sides, along their longest edge. Hold the sticks until the glue is dry and they are secure.
Glue two of the cut pieces onto the still-open end of the floor, standing them up vertically and leaving a gap in between them for the front door.
Repeat Steps 1 through 4 until you have built up three full walls to the height you desire, gluing each successive row of sticks to the edge of the row beneath it. You will need to saw more sticks to size to fit between the front door and the edges of the house. Glue these together in the manner described for the other walls. There should now be an open, rectangular doorway in the front of the dog house.
Glue four popsicle sticks together side-to-side. Glue another four popsicle sticks together in the same way. Allow them to dry. These form the roof pieces.
Place the two roof pieces onto the doghouse so that they meet in the center to form a peak, and glue the ridge together with craft glue.
