Eboot.bin files can be installed onto the Sony PlayStation 3 using a package install feature right from the PS3 main menu. Eboot.bin files can be installed onto the PS3 only via a package (PKG) file. The PKG file has the eboot.bin file saved inside it, and when installed the eboot.bin file is unpacked and saved to the proper directory on the PS3 hard drive.
Insert the USB pen drive into the computer's USB port.
Download the eboot.bin file you are installing onto your Sony PS2 if you have not yet done so.
Right-click the "PKG" file that was downloaded and click "Copy" from the context menu that comes up.
Right-click the USB pen drive icon that is on the computer's desktop now, and click the "Paste" option from the context menu.
Unplug the USB pen drive from the computer and insert it into the PS3's USB port.
Select the "Install Package Files" option from the PS3 menu. Select the eboot file on the next screen to install the eboot.bin into the proper directory on the PS3.
Press the "O" button on the PS3 controller to return to the PS3 main menu.
