Biscotti literally means "cookie" or "biscuit" in Italian. This Italian desert originally got its name from the method used to bake it. The cookie is baked twice to create a crispy biscuit appropriate for eating alone or dunking in coffee. Given its many uses, biscotti makes a great gift for adults. You can gift wrap biscotti in a creative way that is suitable for gift-giving.
Things You'll Need:
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Cellophane Wrap
- Variety Of Biscotti
Purchase a package of biscotti at your local store or bake your own. Try a variety of flavors such as hazelnut, chocolate or espresso. This allows you to put many flavors in your biscotti gift package.
Cut squares of cellophane 12 inches by 12 inches. You can use clear or colored cellophane depending on your preference.
Place 3 to 5 biscotti of varying flavors on a piece of the cut cellophane. Lay them flat in the center of the square. Arrange the biscotti in any order that is pleasing to the eye.
Gather the 4 edges of the square and pull them together. Tie a ribbon of any color to seal the bag you have just created. You can create a decorative bow using additional pieces of ribbon or simply tie a knot to secure this bag.
Create a gift tag and tie it to your biscotti gift bag. Include the recipient's name and a message appropriate for the occasion.
Warnings:
- Wait until close to the time you plan to give your biscotti bags away to assemble them. This helps keep the cookies fresh.
