Dreamcatchers are a Native American craft designed to capture negative dreams and filter good dreams into the mind while sleeping. According to Dream-Catchers.org, the bad dreams become tangled in the web because they aren't able to navigate the pattern, while the good dreams travel the web and slip down the feathers into the mind. How you display a dreamcatcher is an important part of initiating the magic involved in the dreamcatching process.

Things You'll Need:

  • Stud-finder
  • Hammer
  • Nail
  • Screw hook

Tip

Dust your dreamcatcher regularly with a feather duster to keep it clean.

Run a stud-finder over the wall approximately four feet above your bed to locate a stud. Placing the dreamcatcher about four feet above the place you sleep allows the dreamcatcher to capture dreams so it can filter the energy properly.

Hammer a nail into place at a 45-degree angle over the stud to secure the dreamcatcher.

Lower the dreamcatcher's hanging loop onto the nail and test to make sure it is secure.

Hang longer dreamcatchers from the ceiling using a screw hook. Locate a stud on the ceiling and screw the hook into place securely. Hang the dreamcatcher from the hook so it dangles approximately four feet above the bed.

Lay dreamcatchers flat on an area near the bed if you wish to limit the frequency and intensity of your dreams. Display it on a headboard or bedside table.
