Mahjong Solitaire is a single-player, matching card game, in which the object of the game is to match up all card pairs on the board. However, to match two cards together, both cards must be unblocked and uncovered by other cards. If a card has two cards on either side of it, or a card on top of it, you cannot match it. It's easy to get stuck in the game with no available matches. Fortunately, with the right strategy, you can get a high score in Mahjong Solitaire easily.
Check the board to see if four of the same card is playable at the same time. If they are, remove them. Doing so will prevent those cards from blocking any other cards (note that there can only be four of one card on the board at a time).
Unblock new cards with every pair you match. If there are three matching cards that are playable, choose the two cards that are blocking other cards. If a card is not blocking any other cards, you can leave it until another of the same card is playable.
Plan your moves ahead of time. Planning your actions several moves ahead of time will prevent you from making easy mistakes and will improve the speed of your game.
For cards with numbers and letters on them, ignore the picture on the card when trying to find a match. Focus only on finding a match to that number or letter.
Focus on removing cards that open up two or more cards. The more cards you unblock with one move, the less likely you will be to run out of matches. This will make it much easier to earn a high score.
