There are many different types of binding choices for projects and presentations. Spiral binding is one type and is relatively durable and clean looking. However, if you need to remove it, it’s one of the easiest bindings to remove and can be done in your home.
Things You'll Need:
- Wire cutters
- Scissors
- Flat surface with an edge (like a countertop)
- A heavy object (like a book)
How To Remove Spiral Binding
Place the bound object onto the flat surface. Be sure the coil part is hanging over the edge.
Place a heavy object on the book part of the bound object. This will ensure that no movement takes place.
Locate the area on the spiral binding where it was crimped. This is where the coil has been bent to ensure the pages don’t fall out while bound. These crimped parts will be on both ends of the spiral binding.
Using wire cutters or scissors, snip off one of the crimped parts of the spiral binding.
Make sure the holes in which the spiral goes through are lined up. Twist the spiral through the holes of the pages. Continue to do so until the spiral is completely free of the pages.
