In 1978, a disco band named Chic released their third single called, “Le Freak.” Chic’s song became a hit, landing at number one on the record charts soon after its debut. It remained in the coveted number one position for a then record of 7 weeks. Le Freak was one of the theme songs of the disco era. Disco dancers soon developed choreography for the song, and the Le Freak dance spread through discos all over the world.
