How to Play Crab Soccer

Use a variety of soccer drills to help a young player improve.

Crab soccer is a spin on the game of soccer that can be played by kids of all ages. You need balance and agility to play this game. Playing it will work muscles you didn't even know you had. The best places to play are in a gymnasium or outside in an open area.

Divide the group into two teams. Decide which side of the room or field each team will be on.

Mark the goals with cones or lay down jump rope. You can use a line on the gym floor or tape if playing in a gymnasium.

Find a large, soft ball to use when playing this game.

Sit on your bottom with your feet flat on the floor. Place both of your hands palms downward with fingers facing outward next to you on the ground. Lift your body up and walk on your hands and feet like a crab.

Walk this way while trying to kick the ball into the opposite team's goal.

Win the game by being the first team to score 15 points.

You can make a large ball if you don't have one. Stuff a trash bag with old crushed up newspapers and tie it closed. Put another bag over this one and tie it again. Shape it into a ball and tape the whole thing crosswise.

You may not touch the ball with your hands in this game.
