Drill two holes along the long, central axis of the 2-by-4. Drill one hole about three inches from the edge of the board and the other hole about a foot away from the first one.
Line up the tip of a screw so that its point faces directly toward the hole closest to the edge of the hole. Use the power drill to drill the screw through the wooden board so that about 1/8 of an inch of the diameter of the hole is clear of the head of the screw.
Place the wooden board on cinder blocks.
Thread your unstripped wire through the hole that does not have the screw point sticking through it, and then thread the wire through the hole that has the head sticking through it. Step on the board, making sure your boots do not cover any of the holes you drilled. Pull rapidly on the wire through the hole with the screw, scraping the sharp point of the screw through the plastic insulation and stripping it off.
