How to Repair a Broken Champagne Glass

Champagne glasses are common for special occasions such as weddings, graduations and religious ceremonies. Celebrants fill the glasses with beverages and touch them together in celebratory toasts. However, just a bit too much excitement can leave a champagne glass' stem broken. Rather than throw the glass into the garbage, you can fix it. While the patch won't be entirely invisible, it won't be readily noticeable, either. Moreover, the glass set will remain intact.

Things You'll Need:

  • Waterproof Glass Adhesive
  • Painter'S Tape
  • Dishcloth

Place a dishcloth on a counter or table.

Put the champagne glass, bowl down, onto the dishcloth -- the stem should point upward.

Squeeze a small amount of waterproof glass adhesive onto the tip of the stem. Also squeeze a little adhesive onto the broken stem connected to the foot.

Push the foot stem onto the bowl stem and then hold between 45- and 60-seconds, then wrap the stem at the break in painter's tape.

Let the adhesive dry as long as recommended by the manufacturer, then carefully remove the tape. Hand wash gently thereafter to remove any film.
