A PlayStation 3 gaming system does more than just enable players to play video games. PS3s come with built-in Wi-Fi and a hard drive to store photos, music, videos and games. Users can stream movies over the Internet, and the PlayStation Store makes it possible to watch movies and television shows and play games that you purchase or download for free. To do most of these things, you'll need to take the PS3 out of demonstration mode.
Turn the PS3 system on and go to "Settings" on the main menu.
Select "System Settings" and "System Information." Write down the version number of your PS3 system.
Push the "O" button twice to go back to "Settings."
Go into "Security Settings" and press "R1," "L1," "Select" and "Square" at the same time. A screen will pop up asking you to enter a security code.
Find the security code for your specific version of the PS3 system at the Edepot website.
Enter the four-digit security code for your software and push "X" to put your system into normal mode.
