Stickers applied to photos can be difficult to remove. However, you can remove them using a product designed specific for the purpose, or by using a gentle product that will break down the adhesive without damaging the photograph.
Adjust your hair dryer temperature to "warm." Hold the hair dryer 6 inches from the surface of the sticker for about five minutes. The heat of the hair dryer will dry the adhesive on the sticker, making it lose its tackiness.
Apply 1 teaspoon of mineral oil or adhesive remover to the sticker. For large stickers, apply up to 3 teaspoons of mineral oil. Leave the adhesive on the sticker as directed on the label. The mineral oil should be left on for 15 minutes.
Slide the sticker from the surface of the photo. If the sticker does not come off easily, the adhesive behind the sticker may not be completely dried out. Repeat steps 1-3 until the sticker comes off the image.
Use a cotton ball to clean the adhesive from the surface of the photo before the mineral oil or adhesive remover dries. Avoid the urge to scrub the adhesive residue off the photo as you may cause damage to the picture.
