With today’s technology, a 35mm film camera is not as popular as it used to be. If you have upgraded to a digital camera and no longer need your 35mm camera, do not toss it into the trash. Whether it is in great condition or no longer works, there are a few different ways to recycle your old camera. Recycling your 35mm camera will keep it out of a landfill and help reduce waste in the environment.

Call a local camera store and see if they accept donations. Many camera stores will use old cameras for parts to repair or restore a camera. Many collectors look for old cameras at local stores so they may either use your camera for parts or sell it to a camera enthusiast.

Donate the camera to a center such as Good Will or Salvation Army. They will sell the camera and use the profits for a good cause. If they cannot sell the item to the public because it is damaged, then they will sell it to a recycling center. The centers help clothe and feed the homeless or less fortunate.

Drop the camera off at an electronics store. Most electronics stores accept old electronics and various items for recycling. They will send the camera off to be recycled at no charge to you.
