  • How to Make Pretzels. Pretzels are great snacks that come in all shapes and sizes. Not only are pretzels delicious to eat, they're also fun to make. Turn snack-time into craft-time when you and your kids make homemade pretzels together. Watch pretzel animals, alphabet letters, flowers and more come to life in your kitchen--and in your stomachs.

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.

Beat the egg in a small bowl and set aside.

Mix the yeast, water, sugar, salt and honey together in a large bowl. Add the flour and stir until dough is formed.

Sprinkle a small amount of flour on a cutting board, kitchen counter or table. Place the pretzel dough on the floured surface and knead until the dough is smooth. Once ready, form the dough into a variety of shapes and sizes.

Line a cookie or baking sheet with parchment paper or spray it with cooking spray. Place the pretzel shapes on the cookie or baking sheet.

Brush the pretzels with the beaten egg, then sprinkle them with pretzel salt.

Bake the pretzels in the oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let the pretzels cool for a few minutes. Eat warm. You can freeze any leftover pretzels and reheat them in the microwave.
