Paper banners and signs are used to both adorn and announce an occasion. They are used at all types of parties, including birthdays, graduations and engagements, and are generally hung in the main party room as the primary decoration. They are also used to hang around schools or establishments to make special announcements. Making your own paper banner is easy. Using lots of color and embellishing the banner or sign with glitter glue and streamers will make it really stand out and impress viewers.

Unroll a large paper roll until you have enough paper to make the sign or banner. Detach the paper from the roll with a pair of scissors. Lay the banner or sign out on a hard surface.

Use a pencil to lightly mark where you'd like for the wording on the banner or sign to be. That way, you can make the letters equally sized as well as centered on the banner or sign.

Dip a paintbrush into some poster paint and carefully use paint to spell out the verbiage you want on the paper banner or sign, staying within the space limits you penciled in before. Paint any extra designs you want on the banner or sign carefully, making sure not to accidentally smear any of the already applied wet paint. Allow the paint to dry.

Use markers in colors of your choice to further decorate the sign, either by adding more intricately detailed designs or creating a border for the banner or sign. Embellish the sign or banner by accenting the designs and wording with glitter glue. Allow to dry.

Secure numerous streamers along the back of the bottom edge of the sign or banner with tape. The paper banner or sign is now ready to hang.
