How to Draw Bandages

Fortunate characters survive deadly encounters. In the downtime between confronting their worst adversaries, heroic characters apply their knowledge of first aid. These bandages have folds like clothing, which makes them somewhat difficult to draw. Also, artists can be creative in how these bandages are wrapped around the character's wounds.

Things You'll Need:

  • Drawing Pencil

  • Drawing Paper
  • Pencil Eraser
  • Graphics Tablet

Draw the outline of the bandage. Make all the edges wavy.

Draw the part where the excess bandage has been tied. Sloppy or rushed characters leave a large amount of bandage dangling.

At the edges of the excess bandage, draw zig-zags to represent where the medic tore the bandages.

Draw wavy lines that move in the same pattern as the outside edges of the bandages. This will depict the overlapping bandages. Do not do this with the excess bandage.

Draw several close-together lines that represent the folds in the bandages. Do the same for the excess bandages.

Tip

Draw very faint, criss-crossing lines in order to give the bandages the texture of the fabric that bandages are often made out of.
