ABU fabric is a type of camouflage fabric used in the Air Force. ABU stands for Airman Battle Uniform. The camouflage fabric is similar to hunting fabric, and is styled after forests and swamps in drier temperatures. You can make a fabric wreath supporting the military or just to show a love of camouflage without difficulty using ABU patterned cloth. Purchase ABU fabric at military supply stores, online and traditional fabric stores. You can also cut up an unused ABU uniform to make the wreath.

Cut the fabric or uniform into 5-1/2-by-2-inch strips. Cut about 150 to 200 strips per wire.
Fold the strips in half lengthwise.
Knot the strips around the wire using a square knot. Fill in the wire closest to the inside of the wreath, and then work your way out to the wires along the outside edge of the wreath.
Push the fabric sections together to make the wreath appear fuller, or leave a small space between each knotted section to make the wreath less full.
Cut additional strips as necessary to finish the wreath.
Add additional fabric colors or patterns, if desired. Add embellishments such as ribbon, decorative objects or letters to the wreath. Use hot glue to hold the embellishments in place.
