As children get older and reach their teen years, birthday parties become more challenging. If you live in the small state of Maryland, you’ll find a number of fun activities and places to go that are appropriate for the often difficult-to-please teen years.
Fun Activities for Parties
If you plan to have a party at your home or already have a venue booked, you could arrange for many activities for pickup or delivery to entertain party guests from Fantasy World Entertainment. For active parties, there are rock walls and laser tag obstacle courses that you can set up at your party location. Create a dance party with LED dance floors, disco lights and karaoke equipment, or have a digital graffiti wall delivered for artistic fun. If you’re in need of tables, tents and chairs, Fantasy World Entertainment also offers a variety of seating options. They’ll even set you up with party foods if you want to rent popcorn machines, snow cone machines or cotton candy machines.
All-Season Pool Parties
A fun place to go for a teen birthday party in Maryland is the Gaithersburg Aquatic Center. The aquatic center is open year round with an indoor pool that can be reserved for parties. Each party package includes a party attendant to keep it organized, two hours in the pool for up to 16 guests, paper products, pizza, ice cream, juice and invitations.
Fun and Active Party Venues
Boys and girls of all ages enjoy laser tag parties. You can plan a party at the Ultrazone Laser Tag and Family Video Arcade located in Eastpoint Mall in Baltimore. Birthday party packages include one to three games of laser tag and an hour and a half in a private party room where a host will set the table, pour soft drinks for guests, and provide cake, pizza, gift tokens and gift bags if requested. You can even hold an over-night laser tag and movie party at Ultrazone. The video briefing room is turned into a movie theater with surround sound audio and party guests enjoy unlimited laser tag games, music, dancing and board games in a safe, supervised environment. For guests who get tired, a quiet room is provided for sleep -- just bring your sleeping bags! If your guest list includes adventurous teenagers, Terrapin Adventures in Savage, Maryland is an ideal location for a party. You can choose from the low ropes course, Soaring Heights obstacle course, the high ropes challenge course, or a zip line adventure as your party entertainment. Parties will last between one and a half hours and five hours, depending on the activity chosen. Party packages can also include add-ons for food and beverages for guests at an additional cost.
Indoor Party Options
You can have your teen birthday party at The Barn in Oakland Mills Village Center in Columbia. Choose from a Hollywood theme, night at the club theme, or a Luau. Party packages include three hours of entertainment, a party assistant, decorations, pizza, drinks, cake, snacks and paper products, a DJ and a variety of novelty items to make it fun. Members of the Columbia Association get a discounted rate of $550 for up to 50 guests, while non-members can book parties for $675 for up to 50 guests.
VisArts in Rockville offers a number of indoor, themed parties for teen birthday parties including Minecraft parties, mixed-media art parties and art masters. For all parties, an instructor is provided to guide party guests through the art themed activities, as well as decorations and assistance with set up and clean up.
