An anemone is a sea creature that resembles a plant but is actually an animal. The anemone's long tentacles have stingers on it that help it trap its prey. Craft up your own undersea anemone with a few simple crafting supplies. This project is perfectly suited to children of all ages; make up several and create your own underwater diorama or simply use them to decorate a child's bedroom as you bring the ocean to life for the decor.

Roll a piece of modeling clay into a ball, approximately the size of a tennis ball. Flatten one side of the ball so it will sit on a tabletop or other flat surface.
Cut several six-inch lengths of curling ribbon. Slide a pair of scissors along the ribbon to curl each piece. Poke a thumb tack through the center of each piece of ribbon and push it into the clay.
Cut several chenille stems, also known as pipe cleaners, in half. Wrap them around the blades of your scissors to curl them, or you can use your finger. Slide the chenille stems off your scissors or finger and poke the ends into the modeling clay, in between the ribbon curls.
Allow the modeling clay to dry, which should cement together all the things you have stuck into it. Your sea anemone is ready for display.
