How to Make Bunny Ears Out of Construction Paper

By Carole Ellis

Bunny ears are a great addition to any dress-up trunk or Halloween outfit. You can whip up a fast pair of bunny ears in no time flat with a few things that you probably already have in your accessory drawer and craft cart. Making bunny ears out of construction paper will add a little pizazz to any Halloween costume or just spice up a little black dress.

Cut out your bunny ears. You will cut out two large, long ovals from the white paper. They should be about 2 inches longer than you actually want your bunny ears to be. Also cut out two smaller ovals from the pink paper. They should fit inside the white ovals so that white shows around the edges.

Glue the pink ovals on top of the white ovals. These will be the centers of your bunny ears.

Bend the bottom of the bunny ears so that there is a 1 to 2 inch fold at the bottom. This will help the bunny ears stand up.

Glue the short folded piece of the bunny ears to the headband. You will need to hold the ears in place until the glue sets. Once it dries, you will be able to put the headband on your head and the bunny ears will stand up.

Let the bunny ears dry completely before you wear them. This can mean about 20 minutes if you are using fast-drying craft glue, or 24 hours if you are not.

Tip

Make your ears even sturdier by gluing on cardboard or posterboard backs.

Warning

Do not put the ears on before the glue is dry or you will get glue in your hair.
