How to Make a Popcorn Necklace. Give your kids a bowl of popcorn and let them make some popcorn necklaces. It's a simple but fun craft that can keep hungry kids occupied while you're fixing dinner, or keep bored kids busy on a rainy day. It's also a great craft to do with your family while you listen to music, watch TV, or catch up on daily events. Just be sure to make enough popcorn to allow for snacking.

Pop a batch of white popcorn according to the directions on the pattern.

Put the popcorn in a bowl and allow it to cool.

Thread the embroidery needle with a long piece of thread, at least 20 inches long.

Push the threaded needed carefully through each piece of popcorn, leaving at least 2 to 3 inches at the end with no popcorn. If you like, put some colored macaroni, beads or dried fruit between the pieces of popcorn to add color.

Hold the popcorn necklace up to your neck occasionally to decide if it's long enough.

Tie the threads on each end of the popcorn necklace in a knot and wear your popcorn necklace.

To color macaroni noodles, put the noodles in a plastic bag with enough rubbing alcohol to lightly coat the noodles. Add several drops of food coloring and the macaroni and shake the bag to coat the noodles. Lay the colored macaroni on a piece of wax paper and let them dry completely before using.
