How to Play Indian Dice

By eHow Hobbies, Games & Toys Editor

Indian dice is a game similar to the card game poker, but you play with dice instead. The following steps show you how to play the game correctly.

Determine who goes first by each player rolling a die. The player who has the highest roll goes first.

Understand the order of the dice. Sixes are high, deuces (2s) are low and aces (1s) are wild.

Understand the object of the game, which is to secure high poker hands ranked in the following order: five of a kind, four of a kind, full house, three of a kind, two pair and one pair. There are no straights in this game.

Throw all 5 dice at once when you go first. Take the die you would like to keep, and roll again. You may take up to 3 throws, if you desire or stop at any time, but whatever is on the dice at the end of your turn becomes your hand.

Roll all 5 dice, if you are sitting to the left of the player that went first. You may only take as many throws as the first player took. Continue this around the table clockwise.

Win the round, or the leg, if you get the highest throw on the table. If there are 2 players, win 2 out of 3 legs to win the game. If there are more than 2 players, play 2 legs. Then the winners of both legs play against each other. The winner of this tournament is the victor of the entire game.
