The card game "Speed" is a game for two players. It is in the "shedding" family of card games, which means that the first player to "shed," or get rid of all his cards, is the winner. Speed is a good game for all ages because it is relatively easy to play and set up.

Deal five cards, facedown, to each player of the game. This will be the player's "hand."

Deal each player an additional 15 cards, to be placed facedown in front of each player as his draw pile.

Place two individual cards, side by side, facedown in between the players. At the beginning of the game, these cards will be flipped over and the play will begin.

Place a pile of 10 cards each on either side of the two single cards in between the players. There should be from left to right: a pile of 10 cards facedown, a single card facedown, another single card facedown and another pile of 10 cards facedown. You are now ready to start the game.
